Hair washing and care of your extensions
Although we have provided the absolute most delicious hair on the market, it takes time and consideration to have beautiful extensions. Fortunately, it is not difficult to wash and care for Clip-on extensions. Below we have gathered information about everything you need to know about washing and caring for your extensions.
- The hair does not tolerate salt or chlorine water.
- The hair can in principle be dyed, but it is at your own risk.
- The dark colors will last longer compared to the light ones.
- The longer the extensions, the more care and maintenance.
- Use hair conditioner with every hair wash. Feel free to let it sit for longer than indicated on the instructions. If the hair becomes very dry, you can moisten the hair lightly before bed, apply the hair treatment and leave the hair treatment in the hair overnight. The next day, rinse your hair thoroughly. Use oil in the lengths.
- Wash your hair, max 3 times a month.
- Use shampoo first, then conditioner and finally conditioner. Seal the hair with oil.
- Do not comb your hair too much when it is wet. The scales are open and it wears on the hair. Instead, use your fingers at first. Then brush with your brush from the bottom up. The hair tangles most when it is wet.
- Do not use unnecessary heat on the hair.
Always divide the hair into the layers they are attached to. This applies when you blow dry, comb or straighten your hair.
Guide to washing Clip-on extensions , Halo Hair Extensions and Sleek Ponytail:
- Start by combing your hair through before you start washing it. A regular brush can be used, but a wide-toothed comb/curling comb is recommended.
- Fill a tub or sink with lukewarm water and add some shampoo in it. Preferably use a shampoo for dry/damaged hair, without silicone.
- Lather up the water and take a single strand of hair at a time.
- Holding onto the top of the strand where the clips are, dip the hair into the water repeatedly until the hair has been washed through.
- Then take the other lanes, one at a time, and repeat the process.
- When you have washed all the strands, you can give them a hair treatment once and leave them for 5-10 minutes to give the hair extra care.
- After you have rinsed the hair free from the treatment, you add conditioner to the hair so that the scales settle down. It makes the hair soft and much easier for you to comb out.
- Rinse the hair thoroughly and lay it on a towel to allow it to air dry. Make sure to spread the hair out on the towel. That way it dries faster.
- Smooth your extensions once in a while. This causes the hair's cuticle to settle down, and the hair feels soft and becomes more manageable. Remember heat protection before applying heat to the hair.
In the night
Never sleep with your clip on extensions at night! It can damage your hair extensions, but especially your own hair.
How do I store my extensions when I'm not using them?
When you are not using your hair extensions, comb them through and put them aside. Then they are ready for use next time. You can put a loose elastic band around them so that they don't become unsightly and tangled. Make sure your hair extensions are completely dry before you put them down in a bag or closed container. Our silk bag also works as a super storage for your extensions.
